Muslim leaders have condemned Benedict over comments he made about Islam in Germany and demanded he apologize  In his speech at the University of Regensburg, Benedict quoted criticism of Islam by Byzantine Emperor, who wrote that everything Mohammad brought was evil , 'such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'
