  After torrential rains 63 others were reported have been injured on the Atlantic island, which is popular with foreign tourists
 The floods and mudslides were the result of an extreme weather event that affected the Island in autonomous archipelago on 20 February 2010. Damage was confined to the south of the island. The city of Funchal was damaged by landslides. Mud and water gushed down a street over cars and buildings
